My artwork has always felt to be an automatic way of expressing how I view the world around me and my existence within it, whether this be through a photo or a painting. Most of my work pertains to the idea of an underlying fabric that runs through reality; one that connects every human, plant, moment, breath, stroke of sunlight, and mountain range. There is an incomprehensible beauty in this unseen force, which I attempt to make seen or felt.

This video was a spontaneous attempt to show this thought process—this feeling—that fuels what I create.

Throughout my educational and personal work, lines have seemingly followed me. They relay much more information, like a code, that helps me to understand or feel this underlying fabric, and have also greatly influenced my personal understanding and philosophy in architectural design principles. I’ve often been told that my work turns architectural, in both the design and the process itself.

I was able to more intimately explore my artistic process at Kalamazoo College, where I ended up focusing most on sculpture: this was largely due to my desire to practice architecture and my interest in how the spaces we inhabit impact us on a multitude of levels.

I’m continuously having new ideas, new visions of what I wish to create, and my desire to learn and practice architectural design is continuously heightening. There is much to be explored.
